Most people have some sort of understanding of how ‘the horses’ work. Most of us will find one with a funny name, put however much you want to on it, and hope for the best. And when you hear of someone making big bucks from one all you can think of is how much you wish that was you.

But would you have thought of The Queen as someone who’s pocketed a hefty whack from gambling? Most likely not. Her Majesty owns a number of horses, and in their time have landed her big bucks.

Her horses have won at least 451 times over the years. But better yet they’ve made her a total of $8million (£612,3240) over the years. In 2017 alone, her horses secured her over $500,000 (around £382,702) in winnings.

Horses aren’t the only cool collection Her Majesty boasts though. She has a £10million car collection including an array of bespoke Bentleys. In fact, Two of them were built for her Golden Jubilee in 2002.

The Bentley State Limousines were modified from the Arnarge, and are longer and taller than the original with armoured bodywork, puncture-resistant tyres, and blue flashing lights. With a raised roof, raised rear seats, and a panoramic glasshouse, the cars are kitted out perfectly for parades.

When Her Majesty is in the car, the Flying B ornament on the bonnet is replaced with a solid silver sculpture of St George slaying the dragon. And if those aren’t enough, she has 30 land rovers. The Queen is reported to have owned around 30 Land Rovers throughout her reign from the old-fashioned Series Land Rovers to the more recent Defender.

In 2002, Land Rover built her a custom Defender and sold it to Sandringham. The car came with heated seats, electric windows, and a slightly raised suspension for ease of driving. For state processions, The Queen often uses a 2015 Range Rover LWB Landaulet with backwards-opening doors and an open-air top so she can wave at crowds.
